Working Group
The Victoria University Working Group on Sustainability (VUWGS) is a group of both staff and students working in tandem to make Victoria University a more sustainable place. We work on a holistic, all-encompassing mandate, working towards the ultimate goal of sustainability through both university policy and practice changes.
An obstacle to real change is often not a lack of desire, money or time to do so, but rather a disconnect between interested parties. The VUWGS tries to change that by connecting staff, faculty and students at Vic to build meaningful and lasting relationships between stakeholders so that changes made are both environmentally and institutionally sustainable.
Victoria University has already made many strides towards environmental sustainability, but has a great deal of room to grow. We welcome anyone who is interested or has an idea about how to make Vic a greener place to contact us so we can try and make it happen. The best way to do so would be to email sustainability@vusac.ca.
Sincerely,
David Prediger (Director, Physical Plant) & Ashley Quan (2010-2011 Sustainability Commissioner, VUSAC), 2010-2011 Co-Chairs
