Great loves: The lime green buds of spring and the fallen red and orange leaves of fall up at the country house my grandfather purchased in the Eastern Townships; Christmas morning at the very same country house, opening presents, making snow forts and the smell of turkey and plum pudding and all of this with family; the stillness of Canadian lakes that are too far North to be disturbed by cities and houses; the satisfaction I feel after a day spent shopping, the ache in my heals, and the weight of new-clothes-filled-bags on my arms; a Croissant from any hole-in-the-wall of Paris that melts in your mouth and leaves behind the unmistakable taste of butter and deliciousness; any evening spent in the company of friends, whether studying, reading or laughing the night away.
“Travel a thousand miles by train and you are a brute; pedal five hundred on a bicycle and you remain basically a bourgeois; paddle a hundred in a canoe and you are already a child of nature.” P.E. Trudeau

Hey sweet peas! I’ll be the Vic Community Garden representative on the committee for what is sure to be a great (and green) year at Vic! I am a fan of urban agriculture, getting one’s hands dirty and healthy and vibrant cooking. If you’re interested in gardening, bees, cooking, health in general, volleyball, painting, science, terrible puns, and/or random bits of trivia you can impress the dudes/ladies with at parties, feel free to contact me.
